Green Street in Vadodara sets the precedent for this sustainable design philosophy, which we’ve proudly implemented in both our Vadodara and Bangalore developments.

We realised that India needed an alternative to the sterility of the mall and the unorganised chaos of its high streets. We also learned that people stick within their social circles in the crowd of the metros, restricting opportunities to grow.

So, we imagined a new kind of high street – one that would bring people together. A tree-lined street interspersed with parks that you can stop by on the way to work, a variety of eateries where you meet family for lunch, and spaces to engage with the arts at the end of a workday or watch your kids skate or play sports.

Alembic City is one of the first communities in the country to adopt an extensive swale system that will conserve rainwater to rejuvenate our groundwater supply.

Beautifully landscaped swales run alongside the primary roads in the city. Shallow, sculpted water-harvesting ditches, the swales collect rainwater and slow it to a standstill so that it can better infiltrate the soil. An abundance of foliage and pebbles laid in the swales prevents soil erosion and filters the rainwater to the ground beneath.

Swales are also helpful during significant rain events, allowing for the natural release of water, and reducing major flooding.
